Deipnon Invocation

This is an invocation to the Goddess Hekate, I wrote one night being very connected with the Goddess. This is a hymn I intented to give it to the COH team that celebrates Deipnon, but this project didn't materialized due to constraints of the administration. So, I present it here in the safe ground of the Crossroads Witch to be used wisely during deipnon.

Lay down your deipnon in a plate. Light the candles, incense and calm yourself by relaxing the body. Use a brass instrument to make sound. You can use brass jingles for that. You are going to produce sound with three strikes. Make sure you have experimented before with your musical instrument.

Create a Shrine

Shrine

Shrine is a sacred surface/table that is used only for one God or Goddess and it is mainly for devotional work, praying and offerings. For creating a shrine you will firstly need a surface like a table or a bookcase section, where you will add items corresponding to the specific deity. The table could be either put at the center of the room or against the wall of the room, traditionally looking at the east. On the table must be put a depiction of the God or the Goddess. This depiction can be either a statue or a cornice with a printed image of the deity. The printed image version is used when there is not a statue of the God available to buy.

Martial Arts and Magick

This month, December 2017, I gave exams for the brown belt in Judo. The brown belt is the last belt before giving exams for the grade of 1st Dan black belt. The brown belt (1st kyu) in Judo is the most important belt in my opinion because as students we have seen by now the Gokyo no Waza which is the material of techniques learned in Kodokan since 1895. Teaching for five years Chapkoondo and Taekwondo, and heading for my third black belt at the age of 25 in Judo and also having passed time studying magic, I came to spot some similarities between magic and martial arts.

Starting the Connection

A question that I had when I was beginning to establish a stronger connection with the Goddess Hekate, was "how can I do it?" I was invoking the Goddess inside the circle, I knew the necessary mythology about Her, a big part of it I had read in Witchcraft books. When I felt the calling from Her, I saw this matter of connection more seriously. Well, I couldn't avoid it. The Goddess was communicating with me, there was no way not to see the signs. I liked that She wanted to work with me. I tried to do some things and I also asked for the guidance of my friend Katerina, who was also a devotee. One of the things I did, was to read, to study, to search about Her. And from that starting point, I made a secure ground for building a safe and strong relationship.

T.H. Pattinson's Vision with Angel R(aphael)

T.H. Pattinson was a watchmaker in Yorkshire of northern England and a member of Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia (S.R.I.A.). He was initiated in the Esoteric Order of the Golden Dawn in 1888, thus he was one of the first members. At 20th of June he wrote a letter to Westcott, the founder of the Golden Dawn, in which he describes a vision he had. The letter can be found in R.A. Gilbert's book, The Golden Dawn Scrapbook, Weiser 1997

Frater Vota Vita Mea (Pattinson) describes a crowned spirit who gave him a symbol. It consists of three rhombs one vertical in the middle and two horizontals to the sides. This is a symbol which illustrates the primary creation or the union of first causes.
