A question that I had when I was beginning to establish a stronger connection with the Goddess Hekate, was "how can I do it?" I was invoking the Goddess inside the circle, I knew the necessary mythology about Her, a big part of it I had read in Witchcraft books. When I felt the calling from Her, I saw this matter of connection more seriously. Well, I couldn't avoid it. The Goddess was communicating with me, there was no way not to see the signs. I liked that She wanted to work with me. I tried to do some things and I also asked for the guidance of my friend Katerina, who was also a devotee. One of the things I did, was to read, to study, to search about Her. And from that starting point, I made a secure ground for building a safe and strong relationship.

In PGM IV 1716 lies a very effective binding spell called the Sword of Dardanos, the man who founded the mysteries in Samothrace. The island is associated with the Goddess Hekate. It starts with an invocation to the God who created the universe. I have translated and it can be used as a strong invocation to Hekate Soteira or Hekate Panopaia or Hekate Pasikrateia and calling the aspects of Axis Mundi and Queen of the World.
Due to the nature of the ancient invocations, the Witch should have a deep connection with the Goddess, to make the invocation with all of his emotions and vibrating the vowels and pronouncing correctly the voces magicae with all of the energy.

The ancient Hellenes didn't believed in idolatry, the had a complicated religion full of Gods. Using the oracle of Trophonios in Boetia as an example we will see how this worked every time.
There is a several amount of people even in Hellas who believe that ancient Hellenes worshipped statues, so they call them eidololatres and the phenomenon idolatry. In ancient hellenic religion people believed in Gods and Goddesses, energies of the universe, angels, daimones (daimons). The gave to those energies different forms according to their vision or experience. Those forms were the statues. So ancient Hellenes never woshipped statues but the idea behind the statue, the idea that the statue represented.

Selene is the daughter of Heperion and the sister of Helios (Sun) and Ios(twilight). Her name means the one who is beautifully bright, full of light. From her name, the name of Hellas derives and also the name of Helen.
Selene had many children. The mother of Pandion, the first king of Athens was one of her childen, named Pandeia. The Ores(hours) was her children too, but ώρες means the seasons. Their father was Helios.
