Offering: Pitta Bread With Oregano and Saffron

This is a recipe for homemade pitta bread to be used as an offering to Goddess Hekate.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of warm water (not too hot, but not too cold)
  • ¼ tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • oregano
  • saffron
  • flour

Process

  1. In a big bowl add the warm water, then the sugar and finally the yeast.
  2. Stir the mix well and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the olive oil and the salt.
  4. Stir the mix well.
  5. Add half cup of flour.
  6. Add oregano and saffron and stir well.
  7. Gradually add flour again and stir at the same time until you make one elastic mass that you can cut in small balls.
  8. Let the mass rest for 15 minutes.
  9. Cut the mass in small equal balls at the size of a ping pong ball.
  10. Use the rolling pin for each ball and try to give a circular size (before using the rolling pin, add flour on you working surface to prevent the ball to stick while you apply pressure with the rolling pin).
  11. Fry until you see brown spots.
