ROHSF Geospatial Data Analysis 2016

Short version of study of the incidence of the annual international celebration “Rite of Her Sacred Fires” honoring the Goddess Hekate around the world for the years 2015-2016.

Introduction

Scope of the study

The scope of the present research is to analyze and compare geospatial data collected from “Google Maps” for the event “Rite of Her Sacred Fires” (ROHSF) for the years 2015 and 2016. Participants from all over the world who celebrated the ROHSF put their location on an online common map. Comparison will be made between the plurality of the celebrations from the one year to another around the world among countries and continents. Charts exported from “Microsoft Excel”, will be presented for the purpose of this study. The results will not be representative of the participants who joined but to the number of times the rite was complete according to the participants who decided to publish their action. 

The purpose of researches similar to the present one is to watch events or occurrences, activities and where they happen or exist. The knowledge of the location of an event is crucial in order for problems to be solved and plan future projects.

Conclusion

The present research is not representative of number of people that celebrated the ROHSF. The above numbers represent how many times the ROHSF was celebrated around the world. It must be taken into consideration that every stigma on the map may contain 1 or even 20 people. This information is unknown and there is no way to export it. The stigmas also can not represent the real number of celebrations because the celebration lasted for two days so people may celebrated it more than one time but they kept one stigma, additionally it should be considered that some people may not have access to facebook so that they can be informed and that some people may not wish to publish their activity. According to these hypotheses the activity of the ROHSF is empirically and logically estimated to result much higher values than that presented above.

In all Among the countries for 2016 there was an increase of 11 new countries whereas 6 countries were pulled out.continents there was only increase of her flames. 

The Rite of Her Sacred Fires started in 2010 in a small community and now in 2016, the 7th celebration has become a worldwide phenomenon in honor of the Great Goddess Hekate. In the past there was vast misinformation around Her name considered her to be evil. The Luminous Goddess Hekate as time goes by gains more followers puzzling out who she really is. Hekate is the Goddess who existed before Olympian Gods. She is alive from the ancient years; in archaic period, classical period, Hellenistic period, Roman period, Byzantine period and still today. She never stopped to exist and worshipped all over the years becoming the Soul of the World. 

The increase of 52.74% worldwide in comparison with 2015 shows that as long as people talk about Her name, more people will tend to follow her and get to know her mysteries. As time goes by her torches will soon illuminate the ends of the world and people will know again the beauty of Her glory.
